Our Story

We are Andy and Hannah. The story of Johan kicks off in Oahu in the late 80’s. Imagine this- both our parents happened to immigrate from South Korea to Hawaii and these two kids happened to meet at ages 3 and 2. Yes, that’s us.

Andy's family eventually moves to Los Angeles, California and Hannah's to Washington state. And it isn’t until our mid 20’s when we meet again. And guess what? We’ve been happily married since 2014.

Fast forward another 10 years, as we become more into the beautiful game of golf and are fascinated by the ever-changing golf fashion scene, where trendy golf outfits can transcend the course and be worn as everyday, lifestyle pieces. With that in mind, we wanted to incorporate the melting pot of cultures that we felt we were. This led us to finding our creative outlet, JOHAN- a name that is a combination of both our surnames, the combining of two families, Jo and Han, but pronounced, "yo-han". Confusing, I know.

At Johan, we strive to outfit golfers and non-golfers alike in trend-setting apparel that can be worn on and off the course, blending individualistic style and cultural heritage. We are inspired by creatives that can portray this and have collaborated with Korean artists Ham Bo Kyung and TUKATA.

We focus on making classic styles more modern through the fit, use of premium fabrics, and incorporating unique textures. We also focus on high quality finishing touches so that everything we make is made to last.

We want to build a team and a community of like minded people and we are so happy to be able to share a piece of our story with you. Welcome to the Johan family, where every piece is a chapter in our shared story of heritage, creativity, and the unending pursuit of excellence.
